Does any one know anything about GPS??
My husband has a LMS-525c DF Made by Lowrance, We do fishing on th coast and we went to turn it on the other day and it didn’t turn on, our battery worked but we though maybe it was not charged enough to run the GPS, So we bought a new battery and nothing…..we just bought the GPS but can’t find the warranty papers, so we have to buy another one if we can’t figure this out…..any suggestions on why this might be happening?
If your GPS won’t turn on at all, it’s definitely a power problem, either in the GPS itself, or in the wiring. It’s likely a blown fuse.
There should be a 3-amp inline fuse on the power cable. The fuse is enclosed in a plastic housing. Open the housing and check the fuse. If the fuse is good, clean the ends of the fuse and the fuse connectors inside the housing. Replace the fuse and try the unit again.
Any further than that, you’ll have to physically follow the wiring for the GPS to the power source. The power source will either be the battery itself or a fuse panel on your boat.
